Travel Budget Plan

The ultimate Travel Budget Planner google spreadsheet template

How to use? see Video tutorial here:

.........................................................................................................................

This spreadsheet offer you a unique possibility to take control over the economy involved in a longer travel.  For sure you can use when you travel in shorter time, but the more time you spend into a travel the more you need to take control over the economy. The currency to an another country and even shifting currency can be stressful to think about. With this document you get in more control. The spreadsheet is also very useful when you are traveling between several of countries, maybe an around the world trip, and you need to control the expenses according to different currencies.

The cool part with this spreadsheet is the automatically update of the currency.
=GoogleFinance("CURRENCY:USDEUR")
The code are located in the row "EXCHANGE RATE"  When you want the code to exchange from your country, you just put in country code for your country in the last, and the country you are traveling to first. The example in the spreadsheet and in the code above is with a exchange from USD to EUR. In that way you can control your economy from your home currency and don't worry about big surprise in the changes in the currency.

Easy to use "every day budget planer" google spreadsheet template

When you have control of your biggest expenses, as an example your house, car and so on, there are   in my opinion one even more important expenses to handle, and that is your "everyday" expenses. Everyday expenses  here is what you use on food and maybe some clothes or other  articles you purchase more on impulse. Its maybe not so mush every day, but at the end of the month, these expenses can in total become quite large, and larger than you first had in mind. It can therefore then may be much to save to get some control over the everyday expenses.

I am that person that think monthly budget systems can be very very boring. Its ok with the bigger expenses, but when you stand there in the shop and wonder if you are going to buy "this DVD" or some other unnecessary articles I found a monthly budget pretty little motivational.

So therefore, since I love to travel and need money for that, I really wanted to push my daily savings to a new level. The travel to a cool place are a big motivation in it selves but I needed even more daily motivation to it.
I then developed this spreadsheet. I think it work so well that I wanted to publish it for other to use it.

The Idea with the spreadsheet is to put in the daily budget. You can also put in your earlier daily budget. Hmmm, it can be a boring part to find your earlier daily budget, but when you have it by  some calculations from bank info and so on, this can be very motivational. The spreadsheet then show how mush you save every week, and also show how mush you have saved in total since you started your saving project. The cool part about this spreadsheet is that it is a very useful tool to adjust your expenses. If you see you use more or less than your estimated or wished budget / day, you can just change it in the budget/ day column and then the budget change in the whole document.

The ability to change the budget is really a useful option. In other maybe more inflexible budget systems you maybe after a while see that you can't keep your first estimated budget, and then you may give up, and may fall back on old sins. But here in this system you can do small adjustments and really adjust into your real daily budget.

WHAT EVER YOU ARE SAVING MONEY TO, I WICH YOU GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR SAVINGS

How to use the spreadsheet template

(See video tutorial longer down on this site)

           --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1 In sheet1 fill in your wished realistic budget/day.

2 Fill in your earlier budget /day (this as a motivation to follow the budget and see right away how mush you save)

3 Start to fill in the document by start first week and fill in your cost /day

4 You will get a budget every day, the budget/day will be adjusted by what you have used earlier in the week

5 If you use to mush money one week you will then automatically get lower budget next week.

6 If u see that you not are able to keep the planned budget you can when ever you want change the budget/day. You will then see that the whole spreadsheet will be changed, you get more money/day, and by this you can adjust your selves into a realistic budget.

          --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One important rules so the document will work:
IN cost row fill inn 0 (zero) if you don't use money that specific day.
So that means you have to fill in an amount from zero to what you use every day.

Do your own adjustment:
Ok as told in step 6, if your budget is to tight, you can change it when ever you want. This can be a motivation so you keep the budget plan realistic and don't give it up. But for sure your plan are to save money so you can not increase the budget to much either

Info:
The spreadsheet is quite advanced, not in deep mathematical matter but quite many logical steps between the different cells,  so may may some bug can happened. (let me know)

Please let me know what you think, and I hope this spreadsheet can be helpful for you to save some money, and hopefully is it fun and easy to save some money.

How to set fps project properties in iMovie v 10 (Maverick update)

This tutorial show how to set the Frames Per Second, the frame rate in the project settings in the new iMovie version 10. The frame rate in the project setting are the fps your video vil be in the end result.
This iMovie version in the tutorial are 10.0.3

When you look at the 3 pictures here you may remember the way we did this in older versons of iMovie.

So far there are no option to do this in iMovie v 10.0.3. We must hope this will be an option in later versions.

But so far I found a way around the problem. I show you this in detail in the youtube video embedded here.

I found out that when you start with a blank project and import a file with a specific frame rate, the project frame rate will be sett automatically to the frames per second of the first file.
I then made three 10 seconds video files with frame rates according to cinema, pal and ntsc, 23,98    25 and 29,97 fps.  I am sure you have your own files for this but if you want to you are free to download what I call switch files here:

Use water pump pliers on the short ends of the magnetic coupling to rip it out of the contact housing.
Notice the different pin lengths that go into the contact array.

Use a small screwdriver to push the contact array a little towards the cable end of the housing, before using it to lift the tip out of the housing. Take care not to damage the small grounding spring under the first contact pin (nearest to the tip) as you ease the contact array out of the housing.
